Reading through her comments was like peering over the shoulder of a future reader of my novel, telling me what was confusing, what lines were her favorites, what was delightful, how each chapter made her feel, and whether she or not she picked up on consistent bits of detail with the characters/narrative. Her detailed comments gave me a glimpse into the reader mood at various points in the novel, which is absolutely essential for understanding how the prose is affecting my audience. She pointed out essential issues that I'd overlooked, and even highlighted typos. Every one of her comments was relevant and made sense to me (I've had beta readers in the past where that was not true). Bridgit gave my manuscript a thorough read and left detailed comments to indicate what she was thinking (and why) all along the way.
